What is Elon Musk's NUKE MARS Plan?

Elon Musk, the Tesla and SpaceX CEO has planned to drop nuclear bombs on the planet Mars to make it warmer, so that life can flourish on this cold planet.
Elon Musk clarified that his plan is not to drop nuclear bombs on the surface of the Mars but in the sky above its two poles.
Actually it has been found by the researchers that large amounts of carbon dioxide is trapped inside the ice caps of Mars, And we know that carbon dioxide i.e CO2, is a greenhouse gas which is responsible for the Global Warming.
So if we could release the carbon dioxide trapped inside mars' ice caps, then it can help in making the planet warmer.


How Elon Musk has Planned to complete the NUKE MARS Mission

One possible way to release this carbon dioxide, maybe to drop hydrogen bombs into the atmosphere of the Mars above its two poles every few seconds.
Elon Musk wrote- "Nuke Mars, refers to a continuous stream of very low fallout nuclear fusion explosions above the atmosphere to create artificial suns. Much like, our sun, this would not cause Mars to become radioactive,"

But after facing criticism on his devastating plan, Elon Musk has changed his plan. Now he thinks, using solar reflectors instead of dropping nuclear bombs on Mars, would be a better idea, to warm it up.
He Believes that it would be a better idea to place thousands of satellites as giant Mirrors, to reflect sun's rays.


Why Elon Musk's NUKE MARS plan may not Work !

There is a major problem with this fascinating idea!
Actually according to a research paper that was published in July last year, there is simply not enough CO2 left on Mars in any known reservoirs, including the poles to significantly increase the temperature of the planet. So there is very less probability, that musk's nuclear plans would work.
But a better idea about the presence of carbon dioxide hidden on Mars would be obtained using the data from exoMars Rover that is scheduled for launch in 2020 and the NASA Mars 2020 Rover that also will be launched in 2020.

So let's hope for the success of Elon Musk's fascinating plans about making the planet Mars habitable.
