Static Electricity Simulation | Triboelectric Effect | Electrostatics Simulation | John Travoltage PhET | PhET Simulations

This simulation video explains the concept of static electricity (electrostatics). This Static Electricity simulation demonstrates the generation of static charge on rubbing two bodies. You will learn how the charged body gets neutralized when it comes in contact with a third body having no charge or opposite charge. Hence you will understand the concept of electrostatic discharge (static discharge) with the help of this simulation.
This is the John Travoltage simulation created by using PhET simulations. The PhET simulation also demonstrates Triboelectric Effect and Triboelectric series (Triboelectricity).

What is Static Charge (Static Electricity)

Static electricity is caused by rubbing two objects and one object supplying electrons to the other. This results an imbalance between positive and negative charges in the object. This causes the body to get charged. This is known as the static charge.

Faraday Law of Electromagnetic Induction | EMI | Lenz Law Simulation | Electromagnetic Induction | PhET Simulations

Here you will understand the conceept of Faraday's Law of Electromagnetic Induction (EMI) and Lenz's Law with the help of a beautiful simulation.
This simulation of electromagnetic induction explains the concept of induced EMF in a coil, when there is a relative motion between the bar magnet and the coil.
The formula of Faraday's law of electromagnetic induction has been made clear experimentally with the help of this simulation.
At the end of this video, it explains the Lenz Law with simulation.
After watching this video you will understand that, negative sign used in the formula of Faraday's law of electromagnetic induction is because of the lenz's law.
This simulation video has been created by using phet simulations (phet Sims).

Faraday's Law of Electromagnetic Induction

According to the Faraday's Law of Electromagnetic Induction, if a conductor is placed in a varying magnetic field then emf (electromotive force) is induced in the conductor. If the conductor circuit is closed then current is induced which is called as induced current. This induced emf is equal to the rate of change of flux linkage with the coil.

Lenz's Law definition

Lenz's law states that the direction of the induced current produced in this phenomenon is such that the magnetic field produced by this induced current opposes the magnetic field that produced it.

PhET Simulations Tutorial | Free Science Simulation Software (Open Source)

This tutorial discusses, how to use phet simulation software and how much useful these phet interactive simulations can be for Students and educators. Phet simulator is one of the best open source (Free) Science simulation software.

Phet Simulation Software (Introduction)

Phet interactive simulations is a University of Colorado Boulder project. Phet is a free and open source platform for students and educators to play with interactive simulations.
In this video you will also learn how to run simulations that are in Java . Actually all the phet simulations initially were written in JavaScript but now they are being converted into HTML5, so that these simulations can run seamlessly across all platforms and devices.

Phet simulations App (Mobile)

You can also use phet app to play with these interactive simulations on your mobile phone. You can download this app for Android from play Store.

What Fields the Phet Simulations Cover?

The phet simulations contain wide variety of interactive simulations from different subjects like-
Physics, Biology, chemistry, Earth science and math.

Refraction of Light | Total Internal Reflection (TIR) | Refractive Index and Snell's Law | PhET Simulations

Here You will learn the basics of refraction of light. The concept of Total Internal Reflection (TIR) and Critical Angle has also been discussed here.
You will know, what we mean by the refractive index (the index of refraction) of a medium.
This is a simulation of refraction of light that shows, what happens when we change the refractive index of the medium.
The change in velocity of light and intensity of light has also been demonstrated in this animation of refraction of light.

What is Refraction of Light

When a light ray travels from one medium to another medium (having different refractive index) its direction changes. This phenomenon is known as the refraction of light.
This simulation of refraction of light has been created by using PhET simulations.
